SUMMARY:Changing the Climate in the Boardroom
DESCRIPTION:Boards Impact Forum Webinar\, in collaboration with INSEAD and Heidrick & Struggles\, with research result and panel discussion\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBoards Impact Forum \, together with INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre and Heidrick & Struggles\, are delighted to host a Webinar and Digital Dialogue on Thursday\, 17 March\, 9-10 AM CET to share the latest findings of a global research study conducted by INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre and Heidrick & Struggles\, followed by a panel discussion with highly experienced Board Members. \nThe research examines how board directors are addressing decarbonization\, and to what extent climate change priorities are integrated into boards’ oversight responsibilities. \nThe findings reveal a clear disconnect between what board members say about the importance of climate change to their companies and that which translate into action. This can likely be explained by knowledge and experience gaps on today’s boards – and the report pointed to an interesting talent paradox: the best leaders on climate change often do not have board experience\, and those with skills to navigate board dynamics often lack true understanding of climate change. \n\n\nJoin us for an interactive exchange\, as we showcase the research highlights presented by Ron Soonieus\, INSEAD and Alice Breeden\, Heidrick & Struggles. \nThe presentation will be followed by a stimulating panel discussion with distinguished guest panellists who will share how board directors can pave the way in leading the organization toward climate resilient future\, and both are members of Boards Impact Forums Strategic Advisory Board; \nBirger Steen\, Non-Executive Director of Nordea\, Chair of Nordic Semiconductor\, Myneva Group and Pagero\, Partner of Summa Equity and INSEAD MBA 94D \nPia Heidenmark Cook\, Non-Executive Director at Origin Materials\, MAX Burgers\, Board Member Sustainable Hospitality Alliance\, former Sustainability Director of IKEA and INSEAD IDP graduate who will share how board directors can pave the way in leading the organization toward climate resilient future. \nThe panel will be moderated by Sonia Tatar\, Executive Director INSEAD ICGC and board member Chapter Zero France\, and introductions and conclusions will be done by Liselotte Engstam\, Chair Boards Impact Forum and Board Member Climate Governance Initiative in collaboration with World Economic Forum \nPlease register and details on access to webinar will be shared. \n>> Signup Now \n  \nWarm Welcome \nBoards Impact Forum\, INSEAD Corporate Governance Center & Heidrick & Struggles \n  \nThis webinar is open for all and we extend the invite to Climate Governnace Initiative Chapters members \nMore about the hostig organisations: \nBoards Impact Forum is the Nordic Chapter of the Climate Governance Initiative in Collaboration with World Economic Forum. \nINSEAD Corporate Governance Center \nHeidrick & Struggles \n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Competence for Strategic Sustainable Business
DESCRIPTION:Competence for Strategic Sustainable Business\n\n\nThe most senior leaders of the organization — the board\, the CEO and their executive team — are ultimately responsible for the success or failure of the organization. They alone are uniquely positioned to drive the transformation needed by integrating sustainability into business strategy and operations in a manner that supports the long-term viability of the business.\n \nSustainability pioneers have a strong personal motivation and purpose. In a research by UN Global Compact and Russel Reynolds they identified capabilities as Multi-level System Thinking\, Stakeholder Inclusion\, Disruptive Innovation\, and Long-Term Activation.\n \nBased on both research insights and personal experiences\, we will listen to Lise Kingo\, NED Sanofi\, former CEO at UN Global Compact and Executive Vice President\, Chief of Staff\, Novo Nordisk A/S sharing insights on the status of competence at boards and leadership teams\, and what is needed to move forward.\n \nA moderated discussion will follow with Lise Kingo\, Chair and NED Arne Karlsson and Professor Mette Morsing.\n \nAug 26 at 12-13 PM CET\, Boards Impact Forum invites you to a webinar on the topic of “Competence for Strategic Sustainable Business”\n \n \n\n\n\nA presentation based on a UN commissioned global survey will be held by \n•	Lise Kingo\, NED Sanofi\, Former CEO at UN Global Compact \n \nA moderated discussion will be held with presenter Lise Kingo together with \n•	Arne Karlsson\, Chair Swedish Corporate Governance Board\, Ecolean\, Einar Mattson et al\, NED Maersk et al \n•	Mette Morsing\, Professor\, Head of PRME at UN Global Compact\, Board Member LEGO Foundation \nThe discussion will be moderated by Liselotte Engstam\, IDP-C\, Boards Impact Forum Chair. \nIf you are interested in becoming a member or support of Boards Impact Forum\, please register here: https://boardsimpactforum.com/joinus/

SUMMARY:Success across Generations: Leading Family Business Boards with Sustainable
DESCRIPTION:Success across Generations: Leading Family Business Boards with Sustainable Impact\n\n\nFamily firms account for a majority of global companies\, they provide 70% of the global GDP and 60% of global employment. They are a key driver of global business and growth\, so their sustained innovation and long-term value creation are important drivers of the global economy as well as a sustainable world.\n \nHowever\, long-term success of family firms is not given\, and it is definitely not an easy task to succeed across multiple generations. There are many complexities involved when ownership\, management and family roles tend to overlap with less clear distinctions between them and with multiple\, conflicting agendas.\n \nFamily business boards can play an instrumental role aligning family businesses successfully for the future but it can be a balancing act for non-family board members/ chairs in particular navigating the complex landscape of legacy\, interests\, power and the constant need for change and renewal.\n \nNon-executive directors can also be instrumental in engaging family business boardrooms on the complexity\, potential risks and opportunities of climate change.\n \nThe webinar will focus on how to successfully develop and manage family business boards as vehicles for successful governance and leadership with impact across generations. Serving on a family business board is a curated balance between the past\, present and future\, and it involves dedicated involvement from the board\, the family and multiple stakeholders.\n \n \n\n\n\nMartin Roll\, Senior Advisor to Fortune 100\, Asian Firms\, Family Businesses & Family Offices\, and INSEAD Distinguished Fellow\, will share an overview of the topic of family board professionalization and governance\, and the instrumental role of non-executive directors.\n \nA moderated discussion with an experienced panel will follow with the presenter and\n \n•	Peter Ahlström\, Board Member Ahlstrom Capital Holding Companies\n \n•	Lena Hofsberger\, Chair Ambea\, Leos Lekland\, Pharma Relations\, NED Max Burgers\n \nThe panel will be moderated by Liselotte Engstam\, IDP-C\, Boards Impact Forum Chair.
