Europes Green Deal Industrial plan & related webinar

The European Commission on February 1 declared the Green Deal Industrial Plan with a goal to put Europe at the forefront of achieving net-zero emissions. Going forward, this plan aims to make it easier for Europe’s industries to transition to climate neutrality by providing a simpler regulatory framework, faster access to finance, more relevant training and a well-functioning system of global trading. Ultimately, its purpose is to boost the production of net-zero technologies and products essential for meeting Europe’s ambitious climate objectives.

By allowing higher state aid levels, Europe can compete with the United States in the manufacturing of electric vehicles and other green products and reduce its dependence on China. Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, announced that existing EU funds would be repurposed, green projects would be approved more quickly, skills would be boosted, and trade agreements would be sealed to secure raw materials supplies.

On February 9 at 8-9.30 CET, Boards Impact Forums partner the board network Boardman is organising a highly relevant webinar  “Climate Impact” Featuring Aija Bärlund, Chair of the Sustainability Forum at Boardman, Susanna Perko, Policy Officer at European Commission, Directorate-General for Climate Action CLIMA A2 and Liselotte Engstam, Chair Boards Impact Forum & Board Member at Climate Governance Initiative in collaboration with World Economic Forum
